The DSM Conference 2007 is run and organized by the Institute for Product Development in cooperation with BMW Group.

The Institute for Product Development
Situated in the Faculty for Mechanical Engineering, the Institute for Product Development has been active in of design methodology research for over forty years now. As part of its core activities, the research group “Plegmatum” has been working on models, methods and tools to make complexity management more efficient and achievable.
The institute is part of the Technische Universität München, which was recently selected as an “Elite-Research Institute” by the Excellence Initiative by the German Federal and State Governments.

BMW Group
Well-known for its product, the BMW Group is located in Munich, just north of the downtown area. As modern cars evolve into more complex systems, the Technische Universität München and the BMW Group have developed close collaboration ties in both research and education of engineers.

TESEON GmbH
An entrepreneurial spin-off of the Institute for Product Development, TESEON Gmbh, provides assistance in accessing, understanding and taking advantage of complexity through consulting and software tool development.

Jönköping International Business School
Jönköping International Business School (Sweden) conducts research and offers student and executive education, especially in the areas of entrepreneurship and business renewal. Having collaborated with the Institute for Product Development in the past, research in complexity management has been a research area of cooperation between both institutions.

PMI
THE Project management Institute (PMI) focuses on the needs of project management professionals worldwide. It represents a global community with more than 200,000 professionals in project management, representing 125 countries. PMI promotes research, education and the exchange of knowledge in project management methodology.

Bayern Innovativ
Bayern Innovativ’s main objective is to support the initiation of innovations primarily in small and medium sized enterprises, including global players as key customers in the supply chain. As a centre for knowledge and technology transfer, Bayern Innovativ drives the transfer of research findings and novel discoveries into commercial applications as well as for business driven cooperation between companies.

Design Society
The DSM conference is endorsed by the Design Society, a worldwide community to contribute to a broad and established understanding of development and design, and to promote the use of results and knowledge for the good of humanity. Goals of the Design Society are the promotion of cooperation between researchers, professionals, and instructors as well as the organization of international and national conferences and workshops. Furthermore, the Design Society aims for the active support of research, practice, management, and continued education in development and design.
